The 22 July Centre is located about 200 metres from The High-Rise Building, one of the two sites of the terror attacks on the 22nd of July 2011. The High-Rise Building bears clear traces of the car bomb explosion, and no renovation work has been commenced before now.
Due to the renovation, the centre in temporarily moved to Teatergata 10. This is still within the Government Building Complex, but nothing happened exactly there on 22 July 2011. We are now, however, located in between where the terror attack began 22 July, and the Oslo court house where the trial againt the terrorist took place in 2012.
As a continuation of the exhibition space in the 22 July Centre, we have a second floor, which is well-suited to the needs of families with young children. In order to meet the needs of younger visitors, the second floor is furnished with a drawing table and a bookcase filled with literature suitable for young children, some of which are on the topic of difficult themes and subject matter.
Unfortunately, visitors are not able to enter with strollers etc. due to safety measures.
