The Public Conversation About 22 July – Love

This quote went viral, and a message of unity spread via social media within hours of the terror attack. Hundreds of thousands of people came together in public commemorations during the days following. Across the country, many searched for meaning in the face of meaninglessness.

On social and traditional media, in streets and squares, and from official podiums, the message was consistent: The terrorist’s hate was to be met with love and unity.

Some people felt this message was so dominant that there was no room for other feelings and needs. Not everyone felt at home in this narrative.
